SubPow v0.72106 Released!

We are rocking and looking forward to hearing back from you all who get to have a sneak peak before we go live on August 7th.

The bugs have been exterminated after updates, upgrades, and many hours of testing. Expect some minor tweaks of the certificate graphics and a exciting ending End-Game animation, as well as some bonuses for those players who get to at at least 300 Honest Tribunes.

Read the new, improved Instructions. Check out the FAQ but most of all play the game. Hard to believe but I actually learned alot about the U.S. Congress by playing Subpoena Power (I was shocked that only 15% is female and this is true in both the House and Senate).

Thanks to you all that are taking the time to give us a review during this stage.

just a minor thing - but I notice the still graphic representing the female SP in the instructions section is an old version - she's actually foxier than that!

In case you want to replace her I have uploaded the up to date version - it's called "SPfemaleNEW.png"

oh yes! I see what you mean, I will be doing all of the updates and final tweaks to the graphics next week, after I get all of the feedback.

Please keep looking for the little things. The genius is in the details!

Okee. Played it out and a couple very minor things: For one sometimes standing next to a plant (beside elevator)and searching it will throw you in the elevator instead.. I suppose it has to go one way or the other, but when you hop in the elevator it takes a bit of time and you're tapping to get going again.

Another thing is the elevator doors animation seems to leave some gaps along the edges of the frame when it opens and closes.

And finally, when you die ( I had to purposely let them kill me to see it, I'm just that good ;)) some people might not know 'alt f4' to close the window, as the only option I could see was to play again. No way to simply close it?

A minor nitpick as well, is that sometimes you go to nail someone with a subpeona and just kiss marginally, so you wave the little flag, and your congressman is halfway across the screen by the time you can move again.

Also, the crying woman upsets me ;)

That's all for now. I like the 'death animation' of the two baddies. Melting is always fun.

yeah that elevator, you learn to just avoid it. WE could make it a portal in v2.0 but I agree, I think that "A" search should not be the keystroke to take the elevator! Or move the plant :)

We will definitely check out the elevator animation. It was easy for the doors to get moved around as we changed things.

I don't know about making it easier to serve subpoenas; let's ask Tom!

oh! the female SP has been updated, as well as the male SP button and the Instructions button on the Titlecard.

Please be on the lookout for the little things. It really helps.

For the subpeona slowness thing, I just think waving the flag shouldnt lock down your movement keys maybe? So you can move immediately and give chase.

Hi!! :)

just two little "technical" things about the play way that surprised me a bit in this great game work ;)...
Well.. I don't played "seriously" with games long time ago... since I had a Intel ZX Spectrum (in the commodore amiga era)... hehe... but I see in Subpow that you (our character) walks in a side of the screen, left or right, depends the direction that you walks, not in the middle of the screen, for can see better who comes to you... this is a bit disconcerting because you have not time to react in some times...
The only other thing... I remember the typical "pause button" key(normally, I remember the "H" key)... Is a bit difficult stop the game with the mouse pointer :D

The rest is great. Congratulations to evereybody of you by your great work on Subpow game ;)

Okay--5 hours later I have torn myself away from the game. And I was losing badly, but i had to stop! It's fun, you guys.

And the crying woman--somewhat upsetting, but again she's supposed to be (and the fact that it is ME does not sway me--she is upsetting! It's pretty crazy that we're bopping people with subpoenas left and right. It's all quite horrible and funny.

Bugged me, too, that the elevator opens so easily when you're searching the plant. Other than that, I didn't have any realy issues--though i wondered if there was a way to save the game at the point I stopped at and then return later! I didn't want to give up but had to stop!
